CHROMOPHARE? C 950
Top-line ˇ Meeting the greatest demands The CHROMOPHARE? surgical |
|
and examination lights have registered years of success, and are now distinguished by leader-ship in decisive improvements. |

Cooler light
Improved light quality resulting in more brilliant colors
Increased operating safety |

The new "ThermoSorb" concept
Through a special-purpose optical filtering system, BERCHTOLD has successfully reduced heat generation within the cone of light to the minimum.
The benefit of the "Thermo-Sorb" concept:
More than 99 % of the undesired thermal radiation is absorbed and thus doesn’t enter the operating area.
Particulary important for operations of longer duration, this improved lighting system prevents the danger of desiccation of tissue and organs.
A positive aspect for the surgeon:
With the negligible temperature increase of 2 癈 at head level, this surgical light is cooler and less fatiguing.

 |
A new quality in light
Tissue structures, organs, and contrast liquids can can be illuminated in undisorted quality only when the characteristics of the OR light are equivalent to those of daylight. The new generation of CHROMOPHARE? lights fulfils these requir-ements to a high degree with their brilliance and color composition. With well-balanced color rendition (index 90) and a high color temperature of 4,500 K, erroneous interpretations due to incorrect impressions of light and color can be eliminated. |

Added safety
With the control electronics of the "top-of-the-line" C 950, fluctuations in load and voltage can be compensated. Changes in supply voltage or peak loads can be intercepted over a wide range. Thus, maintenance is kept to a minimum, and a long service life of the halogen lamp is ensured.
In the case of an unexpected lamp failure, the built-in reserve lamp is switched on automatically within a fraction of a second. A test display provides information on the proper status of the reserve lamp, providing a reminder - if necessary - to replace the defective lamp. Losses in quantity and quality of light are absolutely eliminated. Electronically controlled, continuous intensity regulation offers precision and reproducibility. |
|
|
 |
Comprehensive operating convenience
All operating elements of the C 950 are located outside of the sterile area on the spring-bal- anced joint suspension. Danger of contamination is thus kept to a minimum. The "Autobloc" and "light field guidance" options provide the CHROMOPHARE?C 950 with unparalleled maneuvrability and easy handling.
The light head is completely enclosed and privoded with an integrated foil control panel for easy cleaning and disinfecting. The removable handle is suitable for steam sterilization. Cardanic suspension, a large ver- tical adjustment range, and the light head’s wide radius of action complete the scope of perform - ance offered by this model.
Whether used singly or in combination with additional CHROMOPHARE?lights, or with a supply carrier arm for electrosurgery - the C 950 ensures constant optimal illumination of the surgical site.

The "Autobloc-System" Sensor-controlled magnetic brakes lock the re
As an option to CHROMO - PHARE?C 950, BERCHTOLD offers its patented "Autobloc - System". To prevent the light from shifting by itself due to unintended weight displacement, the revolv - ing joints in conventional OR lights are normally equipped with friction brakes. Exact and, in particular, easy adjustment is often imposs To eliminate these drawbacks, BERCHTOLD has developed the "Autobloc System" featuring electronic sensor control. This not only allows extremely easy maneuvrability of the CHROMOPHARE?C 950, but also holds the light locked in position even at considerable, unintended collisions. The "Autobloc System" offers very easy handling for the surgeon or assistants: when the hand grip (light center or rail) is touched, the magnetic brakes release - and the light head can be positioned effortlessly. |
|
|
 |
|
The "Light Pilot" Remote light field guidance without touching the light head
The exact placement of light in the operating area - without touching the light head - has been made possible by the light field guidance system patended by BERCHTOLD.
The "Light Pilot", consisting of a small reflector disk and an infrared sensor mechanism installed in the hand grip, allows the operating surgeon to position the CHRO-MOPHARE? C 950 himself. This can be an essential advantage in situations in which the operating personnel do not have a direct view into the operating area.
With the "Light Pilot", the danger of contamination is also eliminated.
